It works very well it has 48 voices to choose from, a floppy drive, as well as expansible ROM, and RAM Ports. If you aren't interested in loading your own samples you might want to look at the PC3s.I'm trying to sell this Kurzweil Keyboard. To my ears the ROM 3 piano doesn't sound significantly better than the built in stereo piano, but the Rhodes, Wurlis and RMIs on the Vintage keys board are awesome.įor either the 2500 or 2600 you want to make sure the Orchestra and Contemporary ROM boards are installed along with the max 128 MB sample memory. The 2600s can also host the ROM 3 (Triple Strike Piano) and ROM 4 (Vintage Keys) expansion boards. The K2600s can do "Triple-Mode" which was a precursor to the PC3's cascaded algorithms. In general the K2600s are more reliable than the 25s, I used to see a lot more of the "blank blue-screen of death" on K2500s. The Fatar 88 note actions on these old K2s tend to drop weights but the 76 note keybeds are very stable. If you don' t need an 88 key board I suggest going for the 76-note version. The KDFX was a last minute add-on to the K2500s but is an integral part of the K2600 design. For that price you should be able to find on ebay a K2600 (76-note) or perhaps a K2600X. ![]()
